Note

Mrs Harriett Ann Hughes Swainston daughter of Henry Hughes and Mary Garlick, Hughes was born September 1st 1864 in London, England. She emigrated to this country in company with her parents and a younger brother, Henry C. in June 1873, settling in the 20th Ward Salt Lake City, they moved to Franklin Idaho in December 1874.
She was married to Ebenezer James Swainston (in the Endowment House, Salt Lake City) by Counselor Daniel H. Wells, April 7th 1881.
From Franklin she moved to Star Valley Wyo. Locating at (Cottonwood) now Smoot, as one of the early settlers about 1890. She moved to Marysville Idaho in 1909 and three years later she moved to Stonelaw, Alberta, Canada, 400 miles north of the U.S. line. As no organization of the church was effective there and after three years failures of crops, the family with two exceptions and two having died returned to Marysville Idaho, where Mrs Swainston on July 10, 1921 at about 6:30 a.m. passed peacefully to her rest, (In her natural sleep) without a struggle not having awoke that morning, cause of death heart failure.
Mrs Swainston was the mother of 13 children two of whom preceded her in death, as also her husband.
She was an ardent Believer and worker in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, practically all her life and this was attested to by the many speakers who delivered impressive remarks at her funeral services at the meeting house. The Choir also delivered inspirational singing of appropriate hymns with their excellent talent.
Mrs Swainston is survived by the following children; Mrs Minnie Roseta Hincks, Mrs Mary emily Broadbent of Marysville, william Henry Hughes Swainston and Jesse swainston of Canada, Myrtle Clara Albert Lewis, Warren Hughes, Earl Hughes, Mabel Edith, Cora Leona and Grace Ellen. She is also survived by her two brothers William Joseph Hughes of Arco Idaho and frederick George Hughes of Greely Colorado.
Interment was in Pine View Cemetery, Marysville, Idaho.
