Address: Kigwigil, 32 Carrabella Street, Kirribilli, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Note: On the high side of the street, a sandstone and iron fence and gate, are all that remain of ‘Milton’ a two storey mansion built by insurance agent William Goddard about 1882. This house became ‘Kigwigil’ (smiling water), a ‘superior boarding establishment featuring large grounds, lawn tennis, electric light throughout, excellent cuisine, hot and cold baths, 10 minutes city' in the 1920s. The house was demolished in the 1960s and the current high rise apartment building, ‘Villa Gardens’, erected in its place. |
