Note
|
Frederick Meredith arrived in Australia on the ship Scarborough in 1788. He later transferred to the ship Sirius that sank at Norfolk Island, but was one of the lucky ones to get back to the mainland. The crew of the Sirius (including Fred) then returned to England. He stayed there only a short time before he returned to Australia on the ship Bellona, as one of Australia's first free settlers. He was given land at Liberty Plains and with Mary Kirk had a daughter Charlotte. |
