<P><B>Susannah Stodgill</B> was born in Essex Co. VA about 1700 but possibly earlier as no exact dates for this family are known. She married<B>John Smith</B> and they lived their entire lives in Essex Co. It isnot known when her husband died but her will dated 1766 was probated in 1769. The will was witnessed by Daniel and James Stodgill. Daniel was her brother and James was his son as her brother James died in 1753.Little is known of her family but she has at least one son and a daughter who married a Baughn. The will names only four grandchildren who were Alice and Thomas Smith and Oris and Thomas Baughn. -p. 31</P>
