Note

CATHERINE ANN STURGILL and her husband, Joshua Weaver, were married in Ashe Co. NC and made their home in adjoining Grayson County, Virginia, USA. When her father, Joel, moved to Scott Co. VA about 1836 Joshua and Catherine went with him. In 1841 when Joel migrated to Sullivan County, Missouri, USA they again went with him. When most of Joel's family in Missouri decided to migrate to Oregon in 1865 Catherine and Joshua packed up once again and went along. When the Sturgill wagon train finally stopped in Baker Co. OR, Joshua and Catherine staked their claim to a farm on Indian Creek, near Elgin OR, where they lived out their lives. -pg 86
