Note
|
This story was related to me by my mother: Born out of wedlock, she used the surname of her mother's ex-husband. She apparently knew the name of her biological father as her daughter (my grandmother) told a tale of selling salve to earn prizes, and going to his farm selling salve in order to meet him. When asked whoshe was she told him her name, He said "You're Nora's daughter"and told her that he wanted to talk with her mother. Nora's father acknowledged her in his will. |
