Note	Notes Per Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (1:3), King of West Saxons 534-60. Dumville's revised dating of the early Wessex kings, as given in Yorke's"Kings and Kingdoms of early Anglo-Saxon England", places his reign anddeath about twenty years later than previously thought. Leo van de Pas contributed to GEN-MEDIEVAL on 29 Dec 1998: . "Cynric (King of Wesses 534-560) who, in 495, came over to England withhis father and, in 534, succeeded him as King of the West Saxons(Wessex). In 552 he fought with the Britons on the spot that is calledSarum, putting them to flight."
