"JOHANNES EDUARD Scholz was born at Hoyleton on 16th December, 1868. He attended the Lutheran School at Hoyleton. He was confirmed at Hoyleton. On April 8th, 1904 he was united in Holy Matrimony with Mathilda Bertha Schaeffer in Immanuel Church, Light Pass by Pastor K.E. Gutekunst. The Marriage was blessed with five children : four sons and a daughter. The couple made their first home at Wakefield, but after 4 years moved to Everard near Blyth there they farmed for 12 years. Still seeKing better prospects they took up land at Hoyleton, where they remained until the death of Johannes Eduard on 12th December, 1934. After this his wife went to live with her children in turn, until in 1958 she took up residence with her son Norman at Tarnma, till the time of her passing. She passed away on 18th August, 1963 in her 85th year. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Hoyleton cemetery."
