"CONRAD EWALD Schwerdt (Harry to the family) was also born at Flaxman's Valley, and 16 years old at the time of his father's death. This would have Been a burden for one so Young to bear, the responsibility of running the farm, and it could be supposed that on his mother's reMarriage he left the district. He went to the goldfields in both Victoria and Kalgoorlie. Returning to S.A. he Married anna Louise Werner and went to live at Bower, cutting and trucKing Wood. Took up a section of land, on which he built a home, cellar and sheds, CLeared and cropped it. Good years were few and far between but ably helped in difficult times by his good wife. There were five children, when she died suddenly, being interred in Adelaide on Good Friday 1905. The farm was sold, and Harry moved his family to Kapunda in 1907, and worked as a share-farmer on the Fords Station. Three years later a move was made to Pt Lincoln, where he took up 800 acres of land at Charlton. Gradually consolidated himself, and became a successful farmer. He Married Emma Louise Heintze, the issue two daughters. Harry remained in Pt Lincoln till his death in 1938, age 76. Buried in Happy Valley Cemetery, Pt Lincoln."
