"On 27th April, 1876 she was Married to Johann Ernst Pech of Hovell with Pastor T.I Egan officiating. The Wedding took place at Bethel. They resided at Hovell, near BurrumButtock where their first two children were born. He was employed as a Shepherd on the BurrumButtock Station. They moved to the Henty district after he was successful in a land ballot. They were one of the first couples to take up land in the closer settlement of Henty. The Station owner whose land was taken over in the ballots tried to get the settlers off the land by intimidation, but while others were scared off, Johann Ernst stook his ground. He was a good shearer. She died at Edge Hill, near Henty, on 7th October 1934, and is buried in the Munyabla cemetery. Nine children were born of this Marriage, 6 sons and 3 daughters. " |
