Note	5th may 1651 appointed Town Magistrate of Windsor. Residence 16 39 Windsor, Connecticut, USA from English Origins of New england Families, Series 1 vol 3 FT MCD 181.P 605 "Daniel Clark was one of the first settlers of windsor, Ct, wher e he was an attorney at law and a magistrate. He was a man of i nfluence andoccupied an honorable position in the affairs of th e Colony, of which he wasseveral years a Secretary....was repre sentative 1657-61, an assistant 1662-64 and Captain of the caval ry troop in 1664. Mr. Clark married in June, 1644,Mary daughte r of Thomas Newberry of Dorchester by whom he had a f amily of t en children. ON page 569 of "The Story of Ancient Windsor" it i s stated that the marriage was solemnized 15 June 1644 while o n page 720 I find the datefixed to be 13 June. His first wif e have died 29 Aug 1688 he married for his second wife, Martha , widow of Simon Wolcott and sister of Wm. Pitkin, Esq of Hartfo rd by whom he had no children. He was appointed by the town o f Windsor to sit in the 'great pew' in the Meeting-house which w as wainscotted forthe sitting of the Magistrates, and died Augu st 12, 1671 at age 87.
