1687, 1 Apr John Pratt Sen of Hartford, Ct wrote his will. Leav
es his wholeestate with my wife to enable her to bring up my ch
ildren in the fear of theLord, so long as she bears my name; i
f she changes her name, she sHall enjoythe thirds of my lands a
bove mentioned & 20 pounds out of my estate, she leaving the rem
ainder of my estate to be disposed to my children; to sons Josep
h and Jonathan, mynow dwelling house and barn with 9 acres of la
nd upon whichit stand between them. (5a) 1692/3, 15 Feb: Upo
n the motion of John Pratt,he being of age to receive his porti
on given him by his father John Pratt, and desire of his mothe
r Hepsibah Sad, executrix to the estate of said John Pratt, tha
t the siad Joseph Prat maight have his proportions of the housin
g and lands set out to him that was given him by his father, th
e Hartford courtappoints Sgt Joh Marsh and Robert Sandford to m
ake equal division of the housing and lands given, between the s
