Israel Clark of Richland Township,Marion,Ohio, was b. in Mansfie ld, 7th March, 1757, d 31st January, 1827, a Revolutionary soldi er, serving almost continuously under several enlistmens from 17 75 to 14th October, 1783, afterwards receiving a pension in 181 8 for his services, about 1800 he and his wife Mary joined the w estward movement from Connecticut, stopping temporarily in Canan go County, New York, and finally settling in Delaware County, Oh io about 1802or 1803, as it was admitted as a State, and becam e there one of its very foremost and prominent pioneers, he acqu ired extensive land holdings in Delawareand Marion Counties, Oh io, m (1st) 24th May, 1781, Mary Stedman, b 14th April 1762, d . 11th February, 1787, daugh of Thomas and Mehitable (Girffin) S tedman; m (2d) about 1787, Mary Kendall, dau of Isaac and Mary ( Russell) Kensall of Ashford, Connecticut, she d. before 1810 ; m (3d) Rhoda ------who d. suddenly; m (4th) Margaret Dey.
