Note
|
We read in history that Edward III of England, going to make war against the French, took a progress through Somersett, among the Mendippie Hills, in Somersett-shire, where lived one Henry Bullman, a miner who gave himself and a hundred servantsarmed with battle-axes, to the service of the King. For this, and for valiant service he was Knighted, and Granted a coat of arms. The name given to him at that time was Henry Miner. This was in 1339. He died in the year 1359, leaving four sons, heirs-at-law of the realm. |
