In December, 1878, Mr. Storey was married to Miss Clarissa Chadw
ick, a daughter of Abraham and Mary (Wheeler) Chadwick, whower
e natives of England and came to Utah in an early Day. Her fathe
r was born in Blakesley, England, in 1821 and in early life he l
earned the tailor's trade. On crossing the Atlantic he took up h
is abode in Salt Lake City. He wasa son of Samuel and Esther (C
onsterdine) Chadwick, both of whom were nativesof Blakesley, En
gland, the former born in 1786 and the latter in 1789. Coming t
o the United States, Abraham Chadwick landed at New Orleans on t
he 5th of February, 1842, and thence made his way North and wes
t to Salt Lake City, where he arrived in October, 1851. He mad
e the first suit of clothes for Brigham Young that was made in U
tah. Later he removed to North Ogden, where he engaged in farmin
g. Mr. and Mrs. Storey have become the parents of seven children
, five of whom are living and two of whom have passed away. Th
e eldest son, Joseph E., filled a mission to the Hawaiian Island
s for three years and eight months and is the present county cle
rk of Weber county and previously filled the position of treasur
er for two terms. John S. was sent on a mission toEngland in 19
10 and there labored for the Church for two years. Ephraim N. i
s now filling a mission in the central states, having entered up
on that workJanuary 1, 1917.
