Hugh Munro served in the King's Royal Rifles of New York (Johnso

He emigrated from Scotland in 1772 or 1773. There is a story tha

Ireland, where they spent the winter, leaving for America the ne

spring, and arriving on Johnson's land in 1773. The family too
k rented
accommodation near Johnstown, NewYork. There was considerable u
nrest...
the stirrings of rebellion... Hugh, along with most of the othe

which had fought in America during the 'French-Indian War), wen

Johnson to Quebec where he was enrolled in the KRRNY. He was dis

the south side of the River Raisin.
