Note	from Vicar Favour and his times page 78 Richard Witton barrister, married Elizabeth, daughter and heires s of Wilfred Lawson, of Brunton, in Northumberland,esqp., and p urchased Lupset, upon the failure of the male line of that branc h of the Saviles, which had inherited that house since the clos e of the 15th century. He had two sons, Richard and John, and t wo daughters, Mary and Margaret. He died April 15th, 1718, an d his wife Aug 29th 1727; and both havemost flattering epitaph s to their memroy. He had also Herny and Elizabeth who both die d young.
