n and heir apparent of Robert Hemyngwaie of the Lower Breare, an
d Jasper and Martin his brothers and others. JOHN baptised 23r
d May, 1544 as son of Richard of Northowram, and mentioned in th
e will of John Millner of Halifax, sebster, dated 24th January 1
592-3, as brother of Mr. RobertHemingway of the Overbrea. HELL
EN married John Hopkinson of Sowerby, 15th June, 1579, buried 15
th January, 1610. She made her will October 9th, 1609, and bequ
eathed to her loving pastor Dr. ffavour 20 pounds. To Sibell, E
dithe and Phebe, daughters of her brother Robert Hemingway 100 p
ounds each. To Robert, Jasper, Martin, Hellen and Susan, Childr
en of Robte: Hemingway of theNether Breare 1 pound each. To Gi
lbert Hellen, Margaret and Rhoyde, childrenof Gilbert Coltman d
eceased, 1 pound each (Gilbert Coltmand married MargaretHemingw
ay, 1 June 1556)
