s and Brunswick Counties., NC) as early as the 1760's and serve

At an Time William Mooney Sr. Servedas a Justice Judg
e of Brunswick Co. and also as an Official of Columbus Co.whe
n it was formed in 1808. He had about 8 daughters and 4 or 5 so
ns. The1790n Census list 3 men, John, Thomas and William Moone
y (possibly brothers?) all living in Columbus and Brunswick Co.
, area. They all were listed as having sons and all 3 served i
n the Revolutionary War. Census show that William lived to be m

Evidence exists that William's estate was settled and lan partit
ioned tohis sons-in-law. Thomas and William Simmons and John G
rissett in 1833. Thissuggests that his sons had already move
d to Al.
