A Tribute, To the Memory of Brother Isaac Brockbank, who died Ap
ril 19, 1878 addressed to his wife and family. ByHannah Cornab
y, Spanish Fork, April 22, 1878.
Peace to they soul, my sisterdear,
The spirit whispers now,
Come, wipe away those tears, and chase
All sorrows from they brow.
While he was spared, you were to him
A true and faithful wife;
This thought must cheer you as you tread
The onward path of life.
Weep not for hi,m he's safe and well,
His record is on high,
And he has left onearth a name
That nevermore will die.
Though age and his infirmities
Shrouded his latter Days,
He still was in the Gospel firm,
To God be all the praise.
Four sons remain who yet will bear
His name with honor down,
And in eternity will be
His glory and his crown.
Three daughters now are left to mourn
His loss, but may they find
Their father's God, A Father near,
Unchanging, wise and kind.
Great Father, let thy peace within
His family prevail,
And maythe words of love b strong,
Nor discord e'er assail.
And may each son and daughter now
Make it their glad employ,
To make their widowed mother's heart
Tosing aloud for joy.
Farewell, dear brother, till we meet
Upon a brighter shore,
Where sickness, sorrow, death and pain
Will be forever o'er.
Accept dearfriends, these humble lines,
A tribute justly due
To him who many years hasbeen
A friend most kind and true.
