Note	Samuel and Francine were married in a township called Chancefor d in southeastYork Co. Pa Francine was 18 and it was two year s after her father died. Sometime afther they were married, the y moved into Virginia. they appeared tohave followed the Wilde rness Road which ran from York, PA through Gettysburgh, down thr ough what is now I-81 and down into Western Virginia. Two year slater, their first son, Henry, was born. By 1766 they had the ir 4th child inTazewell Couny. By 1773, they had settled int o Thompsons' Valley. Tragedystruck in 1775 when Francina was k illed during an Indian raid. she was 33 years old, had nine chi ldren, the youngest being one. Henry was thirteen at the time . he would not soon forget who caused the death of his mother .
