Gibson passed peacefully awa y WednesDay at 1:30a.m. at the home on West Main Street. Mrs . Gibson had been hovering betweenlife and death several weeks , and more than once it was thought by anxious watchers that th e end was near, but with a remarkable vitality the fight for lif e was prolonged. Mrs. Gibson was born in Franklin County, Tennessee, July 91834 , was therefore 73 years old. She was Miss Amelia Patrick, an d was married toJohn M. Hines in 1854. Five children blessed th is union three of whom are living. They are Mrs. C. W. Gibson , Mrs. J. B. McCaul, and Miss Anna Hines. After Mr. Hine's deat h she lived a widow for several years and on January 5, 1871 wa s married to Mr. J. C. Gibson. Two children were the result o f this union, one of whom was Mrs Rufe Bynum, is sill living. S he was the stepmother of Messrs. C. W. and W. A. Gibson. She ha s two brothers and two sisters living. They are Capt M. T. Patr ick and Mrs. Mary West of this city, Mr. Richard Patrick and Mrs . Fannie Moseley of Tennessee. Mrs. Gibson came toTexas and lo cated in Ellis County soon after the first marriage." She wa sa member of the Main Street Christian Church and was baptize d in 1882.
