A young man meets a water grave on SunDay. Was Bathing and San
k before his companions eyes.
An unfortunate drowning accident happened at Point Edward Sunda
y afternoon, by which a young man named Robert Lesslie Wagg, los
t his life. About two o'clock in company with Jn. Barker, of t
his town, Wagg went in for a swim and must have been seized wit
h cramps as he sank after being in the water only a few minutes
. Barker gave the alarm at once and comrades from the steame
r United Empire, of the NorthWest Transportations Company's line
, recovered the body after it had beenunder water about twent
y minutes, but the sPark of life could not be revived.Decease
d was aged about 22 year and his home is at Sanilac Centre, Mich
igan. He is a nephew of Simon Stover of this town. The unfortu
nate young manwas employed as a fireman on the United Empire.
After the boy had been recovered every means possible were use
d to resusitate the unfortunate young man, with without avail
. The body was later on taken to the undertaking rooms of G.L
. Phillips on Victoria Street, where it was prepared for burial
