DEDICATEDTO MY FAMILY - John Addison
At this late hour of my life at 90 years, I desire to write some
thing of my past. I write this especially for my children andc
hildrens' children who may want to know something of the charact
er of their fore fathers, their surroundings, their joys, thei
r sorrows, their disappointments and their achievments.
All my life I have kept a brief account of myactivities - socia
l, temporal and spiritual from which I write this sketch.I a
m now glad that in my early years I had the urge to keep this ac
count, because it has been very beneficial all along the way a
s to dates. It is a difficult thing to choose from the abundanc
e of my varied experiences the things which will be most appeali
ng and of greatest worth to my posterity; but tothose who rea
d may they find something uplifting and encouraging.
I write this sketch in all humility with no feeling of boastin
g and with a heart full of love and thanksgiving to my Heavenl
y Father for the wonderful blessing of life, an affectionate an
d faithful companion, a choice and wonderful family and their as
sociation in Eternal Life to come.
BIRTH
I like Nephi of the Bookof Mormon was born of goodly parents
. My forefather, John North, a native of England, sailed from L

ften Headed with the words: "The men have taken the oath of alle
giance and supremacie," or "They swear that they are no Subsid
y Men." This being a proclamation by the King James.
They were also of a religious faith. My grandparents,Levi Nort
h A ARminta Howard North joined the LDS Church in Illinois and c
ame to Utah with early pioneers helping build the great commonwe
alth we now enjoy. My father, Charles Addison North, who was no
rn in Illinois was also on of those pioneers arriving in Utah wi
th his parents in the company of 1852. My mother, Albertine Jos
