Note

Valcartier Village is near the city of Quebec.
George E. McNicoll, around 1980wrote this about his father:
"Not too much info as to when he arrived in DuLuth. He had a br
other named Alec who in later years was a guide at a popularlak
e in Wisconsin, located near Park Falls. I remember we visite
d him onceat the resort on a holiDay weekend and I remember h
e had us fed in the Kitchen of the resort. I remember this wel
l because we got the biggest help9ingsof strawberry shortcak
e I ever saw. I remember that he visited us once or twice in th
e winter but would only stay for a couple of Days. He was a ver
yquiet person and didn't say much unless you asked him somethin
g."
"James McNicoll had a couple of sisters who came to visit us onc
e. One was a spinsterand the other had been married but had n
o children. Where they came from I don't know but Quebec seeme
d to be the only province mentioned so I assume they stayed nea
r where they were born."
