Our Father, who are in Heaven, we have met this Day as Thy child
ren to pay our lastrespects to one of our members, who has pass
ed from this stage of existence.Father in Heaven, we meet in f
riendship of one another, seeKing Thy blessings and comfort of T
hy Holy Spirit. Father, this is a Day in which our heartsare t
urned toward Thee, beseaching Thee for guidance that we may kno
w our purpose here and understand the meaning of life and death.
Father, on this occasion we are not without feelings of thanksgi
ving toward Thee for many things.We are grateful unto Thee fo
r the life of this, Thy daughter. We thank Thee for the many ye
ars she has been with us, that we might associate with her,an
d through this association we have been blessed. Father, we ar
e gratefulunto Thee that unto her and through her have come int
o our midst many fine sons and daughters, grandsons and granddau
ghters, and great grandsons and great granddaughters. For thei
r presence here and for their companionship and for our acquaint
ance with them, we are truly grateful. We feel that through th
e life of this good woman, this community has been blessed and m
ade better.
Father on this occasion, we feel grateful unto Thee that Thoui h
ast given us understanding and light through Thy Prophets, tha
t we may know the purposeof life. Father, we are grateful unt
o Thee for Thy PriestHood and through this we have been blesse
d with the Holy Ghost as a Comforter through hours of bereavemen
t. Father, we pray unto Thee on this occasion that the Spirit o
fthe Comforter may be with us in rich abundance. May lie res
t upon the heartsof those who mourn, especially Brother Berrett
, the husband of this good woman, the hears of all the children
, their husbands and their wives, and the hearts of the grandchi
ldren and great grandchildren, that they may be blessedat all t
imes with peace and understanding, and though they sorrow on thi
s Day because of the passing of this, Thy servant, may they fee
l that they havebeen richly blessed in having her as a wife, mo
ther and grandmother. We praythat they Spirit may be with thos
e who speak, that they will speak words ofcomfort, words of app
reciation and words of hope. We pray for those who singand pla
y, that the music rendered will bring comfort and peace to all

My dear Brethren and Sisters, I earnestly ask for an interest i
n your faith and prayers toDay. I hope that the beautiful praye
r Brother Eddieoffered will be answered in my behalf. In Siste
r Berrett we have lost another of our neighbors. When we were f
irst married and moved to where we now live, we found the Walke
r families on the West of us and the Berret families onthe East
. They welcomed us into their midst and we soon became almost o
neof their families, and so toDay I feel that I should be amon
g the mourners instead of trying to speak.
