Note	Laurence Lyster, or Lister (Probably the "Laurence Lyster" who p etitioned, 1602, for a revival of his former pension, which he r esigned on going into Ireland on the Queen's service..) of Midho pe etc, 2nd son and eventually heir; hehad pardon for having ac quired the Rectory of Gargrave from Henry Darcy without licence , 1582/3; at the Heralds' Visitation of Yorkshire in 1585 he (a sLaurence Lyster of Middhope, Esquire") registered his pedigree , and it was then admitted that all the descendants of his ances tor "Christopher Lyster, otherwise, Lister, of Midhope and Barne lwick, living 16 Edw IV., " were entitled to the Arms: Ermine o n a fesse sable 3 mullets or, in the centre chief point crescen t gules for cadency; quartering Bolton, Baniste, and Clayton, an dCrest - on a wreath of the colours a stag's Head proper erase d or.
