Note

In Nonconformist Register by Horsfall Turner, could be his extra
ctions from the reigsters of Oliver Heywood, once Vicar of Cole
y Pr ch, who it seems had nonconformist tendancy's and was throw
n out. About 10 yrs later he got a licnece to preach again. Bu
t he never stopped, it is thought he took the Coley reg's with h
im when he had to leave. The owner of the big house at rear o
fCh gave him shelter, and he lived at one time in a cottage u
p The Hough Northowram. He had a large pulpit still in Heywoo
d Chapel Northowram. In Reg notour Bottomly. (Janet Ogden) ja

George Bottomleylived most of his life at Shibden Milne a Wate
r Mill (now Shibden Mill Inn)and later at Upper Limed House. H
e was born 1660c and buried 12 jan 1723 atSt. John the Baptis
t Halifax. George married Dorothy, baptised 24 jun 1661,the du
aghter of John Nelson of Methley, and married at Coley Northowra
