Laura Elizabeth Ingalls was born February 7, 1867, in a little l
og house in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Laura's childHood was s
pent raveling West by covered wagon, to Indian Territory in Kans
as, to Grasshopper Country in Mennesota, and then to Dakota Terr
itory, where she met and married Almanzo Wilder.
Last will and Testament of Laura Ingalls Wilder and Almanzo Wild

Know all men by these presents: That I, the undersigned Laura In
galls Wilder, being in good health, sound and disposing mind an
d desiring to make dispotision of my affairs while in health an
d strength, do hereby make, publish and declare the following t
o be my last will and testament, in manner and form, following t
o wit:

  1. I direct the payment of all my just debts and funeral expense
    s.
  2. I will and bequeath to my daughter, Rose Wilder Lane all my C
    opyrighted Literary property and the income from samefor and d
    uring her natural life and at her death. I direct that said Cop
    yrighted LIterary property and the income from same be given t
    o the Laura Ingalls Library of Mansfield, Missouri.
  3. I further direct that the beneficiaryunder the aforesaid be
    quest sHall pay the sum of Ten and No/100 dollards ($10.00) annu
    ally to the De Smet Cemetery Association of De Smet, South Dakot
    a,for the care of the Ingalls family lot and that siad benefici
    ary further paythe sum of Ten and no/100 dollars ($10.00) annua
    lly to the Mansfield Cemetery Association of Mansfield, Missouri
    , for the care of the Wilder family lot.
  4. I will and bequeath all the balance of the property that I ma
    y die possessed of whether it be tangible, intangible, real, per
    sonal or mixed to my daughter, Rose Wilder Lane.
  5. I hereby consitute and appoint N. J. Craig of Mansfield, Miss
    ouri to be the Executor of this will and testament.

    I, Alnzo(sic) J. Wilder of Mansfield, Missouri, being of sound m
    ind and memory,and considering the uncertainty of this transitor
    y life, do therefore make, ordainand publish and declare this t
    o be my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT.
    FIRST, I order and direct my executor, hereinafter named, pay al
    l of my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my deceas
    e as conveniently may be.
    SECOND, I give and bequeath unto my wife, Bessie, and my daughte
    r, Rose Wilder Lane, the payment on the land I sold to H.L. shor
    ter, divided equally between them eachmonth or each payment.
    THIRD, to my friend and benefactor, Silas Seals (sic),I give an
    d bequeath my Sasafras Chair, and Cypress Stand Table. I also g
    ive and bequeath unto Silas Seals (sic) my Postal Savings Accoun
    t at Mountain Grove, Missouri.
    FOURTH, the residue of my personal property, I give unto my wife
    , Bessie Wilder.
    LASTLY, I make, constitue and apoint my wife, Bessie Wilder to b
    e the executor of this, my LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT, hereby revok
    ingall former WILLS by me made. this 13th Day of July 1944.
