Gen Dct of 1st Settlers of New England page 202 read: Martha (Me

th as the Geneal RegisterVI 173 says tho. I doubt it's correctn
ess, for Christopher Smith in 1668 is nam. in his will by Jonath
an Fairbanks as husband of his daughter Mary and third h...Stow
. There is more confusion on this in Gen Dict V4 p 109 where i
tlists Christopher Smith Dedham, perhaps son of the first Chris
topher of Hartford, perhaps first one of four brothers whose onl
y siter Mary was the wife of William Partridge, and who remove
d to Northampton early where he had wifeSarh adm. of the child
ren there. Swore oath of allegiance 8 Feb 1679 amd died 13 fe
b 1692. His widow was still living in 1706, with nephew Samue
l partridge, Esquire of Hatfield, son of his only sister Mary, w
ho, by contracted had supported him and his wife in old age, ha
d the estate. now mention of a Stow in this part.
