Obituary.
Roberta Louise (Bertie) North Richardson of Jackson Hole and St.
George died of cancer on April 18 at her winter home in St. Geor
ge, Utah. She had just turned 79 on April 6.
Bertie was born in 1921 in Union, Utah, to Sarah B. North and Jo
hn Grant North. She moved to Jackson Hole in1939 where she me
t and married Weldon T. Richardson on May 21, 1940 in IdahoFall
s and sealed in the Temple September 23, 1942. She was always a
ctivein the L.D.S. Church, taught Primary, and was a den mothe
r and Relief SocietyTeacher.
She volunteered as a hospital pink lady, sang with the singing m
others and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers
. She was the Office Manager-Receptionist at the Grand View Mot
el for at least fifteen years.Earleir she was a cashier at Wel
don's grocery and always worked hand in handwith her husband o
f 59 years in all his business ventures.
Bertie was always doing homework with her ten children. She hel
ped all of them graduate fromHigh School and also encouraged th
eir college years and their careers.
Sheloved to sketch, draw, paint and do calligraphy. She also l
oved to visit with people just to shoot the breeze andhelping pe
ople was one of her sidelines.She liked dancing and listenin
g to Lawrence Welk and other good music. She loved picnics an
d spent many hours pacKing lunches and taKing the family onpicn
ics everywhere. She baked pies and loved picKing huckleberrie
s for her special pie.
She is survived by 9 of her 10 children, six sons; Weldon T. Ric
hardson, Jr., (Jackie) of Jackson; Dennis Richardson (Janine) o
f Tooele, Utah; Val Richardson of Henderson, Nevada; Marlin Rich
ardson (Lisa) of Cody, Wy.; LaMaun Richardson (Lisa) of Henderso
n Nevada; and Newell Richardson (Becky) of St. George, Utah; thr
ee daughters: Roberta West (Kent) of Ogden, Utah;Myrna Condie (
Gary) of Valencia, California; and Jan Richardson of Henderson
. She is also survived by three sisters; Merle Moyer (Corky) o
f Jackson, Beth Richards (Jack) of Jackson, and Larna Stitt (Mer
le) of Tucson, Arizona andtwo brothers; Leroy North (Virginia
) of Salt Lake City and John A. North (Jill) of Medford, Oregon
. she had thirty grandchildren and five great gandsons. Funera
l services were held on SaturDay, April 22 at the LDS First War
d followed by interment at Aspen Hill Cemetery.
