Tillotson --at No 103 East Lorain street November 8, 1898, Mrs
. Emily M. tillotson, aged56 years and 9 months,
The deceased was the daughter of Joseph W. and mary Metcalf an
d was born in Liverpool Medina,Ohio Feb 9 1842. She married Zad
ack(sic) Tillotson of Brunswick, Ohio, Une 12, 1860 and moved t
o Oberlin in March, 1885. She was one of eight children of he
r parents, four of whom surviveher, Henry Metcalf of Pittsfield
, Mrs. Eliza Brown of Oberlin, Mrs. Mary terrell of Cleveland, a
nd Charles A. Metcalf of Elyria, On. Geo P. Metcalf, who died so
me years ago, was a member of the family. She leaves one son, A
. Z.tillotson Esq., of Oberlin at whose home she passed throoug
h a long and painful illness. Mrs. Tillotson early united wit
h the M. E. Church but since coming to Oberlin she united with t
he First Baptist Church, and remained in it until her death.
Funeral serviced were held at the house on WednesDay afternoon
, conducted by Rev. I. E. Bill, Jr., pastor of the Baptist churc
h. The members of the W.C.T.U., of which she was a member atten
ded the funeral in a body.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Z. Tillotson desire to extend thanks to the W.C.
T.U., theLadies's Aid Society, the Knights of Pythias, and indi
viduals for floral offerings.
