A good man and most diligent minister. Oliver Heywood in his ac
count of the crates of Coley says of him:-
"The next that succeeded was one Mr. gibson, a godly man and a
n able minister,who was tabled at the Upper Briar, and afterwar
ds did marry his landlady, old Robert Hemingway's wife, but live
d not long after that. He left some plateto the chapel that ha
th his name upon it, yet forthcoming, with a great silver cup, g
ilt with gold, int he hands of Mr. Joseph Furnesse, living in Ov
enden.
Samuel Whitley of Shelf, bequeathed him 10 pounds in 1611; Jan
e Crowther, the benefactress, his wife's siter, left him other 1
0 pouns in 1613, and in 1614, he was a legatee for 5 pouns in th
e will of Richard Royd of Northowram chapman. In 1613, Abm. Til
letson of the Fold in Shipden, Yom., appointyedhis wife Sara
, his executirx. and his brother in law, Mr. Jeremie Gibson ofN
orthowram, the guardian of his children, Willia, Abrahm, and Hen
