other's death, 11 years and 11 months; 9years and 4 months; 6 y
ears and 10 months and 4 years and 4 months.

"John Hemingway of Overbrear and of Shibden hall, died 11th se
p 1615, and it was found by Inquisition, held at Halifax, on18t
h October 1615, that he died scised in fee of 4 messuages, 40 ac
res of land, 40 acres of meadow, 70 acres of pasture and 6 acre
s of wood, in Southowram, and one acre of land in Northowram. S
ibil, Edith, Phoebe, and Martha Hemingway were found to be the s
isters and coheirs of the deceased......His namehad been associ
ated with that of his aunt Jane Crowther, in the purchase ofShi
bden hall, for the sum of 1600 pounds, from Caleb Waterhouse, al
ready mentioned. By his death, his property descended to his si
sters, and by the marriage of two of them to the Listers, former
ly of Ovenden, then of Shibden hall and Overbrear by marriage, a
nd of Lower Brear by purchase.
