Note	"Mary (Polly) Allen Jacobs was born either on July 8 1783 or Jul y 11 1782 anddied at the age of 31 (apr 4 1813) leaving 6 smal l children aged 11, 10, 8,6, 4, 2) Her husband Aaron Jacobs dec ided to take the children to Bergen, N.Y. where there were relat ives (Probably aaron Arnold, Elza Allen Arnold and her father Am os Allen) (C. Arnold's note added) Mary's sister Ann Allen who h ad been caring for Mary in her last illness, made the journey wi th them, perhaps had gont to Rutland Vt where they were living . Their only means of transportation was one horse. Aaron le d the horse so Ann's arms would be ree andshe rode most of ht e time and held the bay, and sat another cuild up in frtonof he r on the horse. Or the children took turns riding two or thre e couldride. While Ann walked and led the horse and Aaron carr ied the baby. So deep in trials and weariness and heartbreak, t hey traveled through the April woods from Rutland Vt to Bergen N .Y. Per Steve or Cyberspace aka Joseph Klatka
