Newspaper obituary
Our loving sister, mother, aunt, friend, and grandmother, passe
d away October 21, 2001 after an optimistic yet valiant battle w
ith cancer. Marilyn Joy Mismash was as her name--a joy in all t
hings.
She had great love and compassion for all. She was our best con
fidant, advisor and friend. She was a straight shooter--she tol
d it like it was.
Bringing laughter during hard times you could always depend on h
er. She was born Feb 18, 1930 in Murray, Ut., to Arthur Joshu
a MacKay and Elda Merle Reynolds. She attendedBYU and fulfille
d a mission to the central states. She continued her service a
t the Church offices where she retired after 28 years.
A devout member ofthe LDS Church, she practiced and she preache
d. She excelled in speaking, cooking, ceramics, music, gardenin
g, and bringing beauty to all she touched.
She married the love of her life, Frank Mismash, Nov 14, 1974 i
n the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She always said he was the cream o
f the crop.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank; sister Louise; an
d brothers Grant, Clayton. Survived by sister Carol (Cherie) an
d Ron Birch; stepmother, Nedra Mackay; stepsons, Jerrold, and Ji
m and Lynda Mismash; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchil
dren; many loving nieces and nephews; and those who considere
d her their second mom. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs
. She will be greatly missed.
