ng in the whole 520? 22/100? acres, beginning atthe SW corner o
f the said fractional section, thence running North 79 chainsan
d 76 links thence east 20 chains to the North of Grant's Creek
, thence down the bank to the Ohio under about 32 chains and 9
3 links to an Elm tree marked with 3 notches on 4 sides abou
t 3 chains distance from the house where George W. North now res
ides, thence running as along a southerly course to thesouth si
de of the said fraction to an ash tree marked with 3 notches o
n 4 sides in conformity to a line run by Daniel Kelso, surveyo
r of the said county, which I give and bequeath to the said Roya
l F. North, with the exception ofmy wife's lawful dower.

t that which belongs to my wife's lawful dower.

f any sistern or run of water upon the aforesaid fraction and pr
emises for the purpose of building mills and any kind of water w
orks with the privileges of turning and diverting in any directi
on he may think neccessary for the advantage of the said works
, with the privilege of digging trenches and water ra__ and to b
uild dams when it shall be thought necessary and all shall be pe
rmitted to cut away all logs and trees which obstructs the build
ing and carrying on the above described building and premises an
d also to make full use of stone and of earth for all the abov
e described purposes whatsoever, and also should have full privi
leges tomake roads and to travel to and from any part of the sa
id premises that he may thought neccessary for the use of carryi
ng or any of the above said work.

Thomas North was born 29 Aug 1748 Farmington Connecticut. He di
ed 30 Oct 1830, buried in a Cemetery on North'sfarm near North'
s Landing. This cemetery is in Switzerland County. Stone.H
