y By H. TravisClay, M.A. May 1944 reads In the Luddenden Churc
h register are many records of Kings of Midgley and Warley durin
g the years 1690 to 1810. Thomas King ofWarley died Septembe
r 1728, his wife having died in January 1718. He was probabl
y a brother of Isaac of Warley and Willow Hall, of Kendall's ped
igree, but there is no record of his will at York. Francis Kin
g of Warley had two daughters and two sons baptised between 172
7 and 1735 and in May 1737 in the words of the register, he cam
e to his death by misfortune and ill chance. The burial of Joh
n King, of Midgley innholder, was registered in January 1748 pro
bably the man who was constable and surveyor of highways for Mid
gley township in 1740.
