Mr. James H. Crewdson, "Jim", born June 26, 1924, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2008 while at his home in Cross Lanes.

Jim was the son of James and Viola Muccle Crewdson. He married Margaret Ann "Peg" Camp, on September 9, 1950. His parents, wife, and his brother Robert preceded Jim in death

A lifelong resident of the Nitro-Cross Lanes area. He graduated from Nitro High School in 1943. After high school Jim served in the US Army, field artillery, and then attended West Virginia University. He graduated from the University of Virginia Law School in 1952. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and American Bar Association. He opened a law practice in Charleston in 1952 and was practicing until his death.

He served as Special Judge in Kanawha County Courts, a Domestic Relations Judge in Charleston, a Nitro City Judge, and served as a Mental Hygiene Commissioner until his death. Jim was a member of the Cross Lanes Lions Club and was instrumental in getting the sewer system and sidewalks for the Cross Lanes area.

Jim was a faithful and loving servant of the Lord. He was a member of the Perrow Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Cross Lanes since 1956 and served as an Elder.

He is survived by his children, Nancy Smith and husband Larry of Durham, NC, Gail Casebolt and husband Steve of Cross Lanes, Peggy Cunningham and husband Curtis of Cross Lanes, Jim Crewdson and wife Cathy of Red House and Keith Crewdson and wife Trina of Cross Lanes, a sister and brother, Anna Mary Elskus of Maine and Richard Crewdson and wife Freda of Florida. Jim was blessed with 16 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Jim's life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, at Perrow Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Cross Lanes with Pastor Keith Cobb and Pastor Jack Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 9 PM Monday, March 31 at the church. Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Perrow Evangelical Presbyterian Church Open Arms or Community Connection 5345 Big Tyler Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
