Ottawa Citizen - November 30, 1923 - Kemp/Vipond There was solemnized on Wednesday evening at eight o'clock, at the home of the bride's father, 71 Heney Street, the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Dorothy Vipond, youngest daughter of Mr. Jacob Vipond, and Mr. John Anson Kemp, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Kemp, of Ramsayville. Rev. T. Wesley Cosens, the paster of the Eastern Methodist church, officiated, and Mrs. Melvin, a cousin of the bride, presided at the piano, playing the wedding music in most pleasing manner. Mr. Vipond gave his daughter in marriage, the couple being unattended. Most effective was the decoration which included wedding bells suspended from the ceiling, underneath which the bridal party stood. The bride wore a lovely gown of cocoa-colored Canton crepe and carried Columbia rosebuds. About twenty of the immediate relatives were present, among whom was Mrs. T.F. Moore of Amos, Quebec, a sister of the bride. Following a delicious supper, Rev. Mr. Cosens toasted the bride, and later a musical and literary program was given. The couple received many costly gifts. They have left for Toronto and on their return to Ottawa will take up residence at 71 Heney Street. |
