Note
|
Louis, along with his brother Patrick, Patrick's wife Elizabeth and Elizabeth's sister Alice Rhodes. All of them were convicted of murdering Harriet Staunton, Louis Wife & possibly their son in 1877 in Kent. They were all given death senteneces but these were revoked for life sentences. Louis was in prison for the following times: 1881 inmate at "Woking Invalid Prison Knaphill Woking" 1891 inmate at Gillingham, Kent. He was released after 20 years of imprisonment, he then married Alice Rhodes, (they had a child whilst she was in prison, the child, Louis S Rhodes died in 1878). Whilst married to Alice, Louis had an affair with Emily Bennett with whom he had a child on 04/02/1910 in Bromley, Kent, her name was Mabel Bennett. The child lived with Louis & Alice. Alice died in 1913, Louis then married again to Charlotte Harrison in 1915 at West Ham, London. By then he had changed his name to Edmonds (which was one of his fornames originally). They had 9 children, apparantly Louis was considered a pillar of society and never put a foot wrong. |
