Note

NORAH BAKER DICKERSON.
Aunt Norah. Jack's sister.b.1909 weighing 11.5 lb. and looking like a side of beef, according to my grandmother. Norah was quite spoiled, staying away from school quite often, wearing the latest fashions and having lots of pocket money She was very pretty with curly brown hair and about 5'6'' tall. When she left school she did not go out to work. She made sweets that were sold in the bar. Her mother wanted her to stay at home and she was engaged to Claud Dickerson for several years before they got married. They had one adopted daughter,Maureen. Claud took a job as chaffeur at Bradenham Hall and they moved to a cottage in the hall grounds. Claud drove a Morris Minor but when he was a chaffeur he drove a Bentley. Nora worked in the hall as the cook. They lived there until Claud retired as he had Parkinson's disease. Nora often visited us and took me,my cousin Rhona and Maureen out on our bikes or for picnics. I was very fond of Aunt Nora, she was kind and generous like my grandmother.
