Mrs. Hattie B. Fessenden, 84, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska, died Sunday evening, Dec. 19, 1982, at the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital. She was a former schoolteacher, and was a member of the Peoples Church and the W.C.T.U. She was interested in family history, and contributed to a two volume history of the Fessenden family. Mrs. Fessenden was born in Kalkaska County on July 15, 1906, daughter of the late Hiram and Lydia Hoag Drake. On Jan. 3, 1921, she was united in marriage in Kalkaska to Leonard Fessenden. He preceded her in death in 1967. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Crawford of Kalkaska; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle McDowell of Zephyrhills, Florida; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1982, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Eddie Bratton, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Kalkaska. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kalkaska Memorial Hospital. |
