"He [Richard Wilson Harris] signed up in Toronto, with the 34th Battery on the 22nd of November 1915. He was transferredto the 146th. Batt and went to England in Septemer 1916. He was reduced to rank to go to France wit the 20th Batt. He was at the battle of Vimy Ridge and Lens, Hill 60. He was gassed and burnt at Passchendale Nov 7th, 1917. He spent eight months in the hospital in England. He came home in December 1918. He was discharged in January 1919 at Kingston, Ontario.

He was married to Grace Hazlett, a grand-daughter of James Ewart." [great granddaughter of John Ewart, Sr]
