CHEBOYGAN - Doris J. Deroshia, age 71, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Doris was born in Cheboygan on Feb. 22, 1933, the daughter of Eli and Blanche (Campbell) Douglas.

She was employed for several years with the Michigan Employment Security Commission, retiring in the fall of 1992. Doris was a resident of Larson Hall in Cheboygan since 1999. She loved the different activities that went on at the hall, including doing crafts and bingo.

Doris is survived by five daughters, Debbie (Steve) Yoder of Levering, Diane LaHaie of Cheboygan, Patti O'Donnell of Cheboygan, Janet (Chuck) Getz of Cheboygan, and Becky (Richard) Phillips of Cheboygan; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Sherrie) Douglas of Indian River; sisters Ruth Beretz of Midland, Janet (Dave) Landrie of Cheboygan, Laura (Jim) Barrette of Cheboygan and Judy (Cles) Hurlburt of Carp Lake.

Visitation was conducted Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at the Nordman Funeral Home in Cheboygan. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2005, at St. James Episcopal Church in Cheboygan, with the Rev. Bill McClure officiating. Interment will take place at Munro Township Cemetery.
