(Bloom) a resident of RR #3 Thamesville, passed away at Thamesview Lodge, Chatham, on Tuesday May 4, 1999 at the age of 62. Born in Florence, daughter of the late Bill and Alma (Tinney) Bloom. Janet retired after 23 years at Union Gas, she was a member of the Union Gas Genies, the Thamesville United Church and choir, Thamesville Tops, and loved to go bowling. Beloved wife of the late Edward Bateman (1996). Loving mother of Cindy Bateman and Jason Hopkins of RR #3 Thamesville, Carla-Jo and David McLaren of Chatham. Loving grandma of Matthew, Justin, and Brittany. Dear sister of Rosilla and Harold Elliott of RR #3 Bothwell. Dear sister-in-law of Marjorie Simmons of Chatham, Phyllis and Don Jones of Cayuga, Gerogina Bateman of Thamesville and Madeline Bateman of Stratford. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews, Rob, Cherie, Patsy, Sue, Joanne, Bill, John, Lynn and Jeff. The Bateman family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria Street Thamesville, on Thursday 2-4:30pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Friday May 7, 1999 at 11:00am with Rev. David Williamson, Victoria Avenue United Church, Chatham, officiating. Internment Sherman Cemetery Thamesville, Donations to the Cancer Society, Thamesview Lodge or the Charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. .
