Mrs William Bateman Called by Death.
Mrs Margaret Finlayson Hetherington, widow of William Bateman, died early yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs Roy Kendall, 137 Delaware Street, London, with whom she has made her home for the past four years.
Mrs Bateman was a daughter of the late Richard Hetherington and Margaret Fraser and was born near Dundas. In 1878 she was married to William Bateman and settled in Orford Township where she lived until 20 years ago when she and Mr Bateman retired and came to the village to live. Following the death of her husband, she went to live with her daughter, Mrs Kendall of London.
Deceased is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs Kendall, London; Mrs Ernest Gammage, Croton; and John M Bateman, Aldborough Township; also two sisters and 2 brothers; Mrs D.J. McPherson, Thamesville; Mrs James Shankie, Orford Township; John Hetherington of Orford ; and Richard Hetherington of Chatham.
The remains are resting at the home of Mrs Gammage in Croton and the funeral cortege will leave the home at 1:30pm on Wednesday for St James Presbyterian Church where the service will be conducted by Rev J.C.Herbison. Internment will be made in Sherman Cemetery Thamesville.
