Henry was the fourth child of Robert G. and Johanna W Christina Buechner (or Benny) Hacking. He worked as a mailer for a printing company. He was married to Theresa Carvell about 1896. They had a son, Paul Robert Hacking. Sadly Theresa died in 1910 after several months of illness. He was married next to Annie, who took her own life in 1917. Later in life he married Stella and he preceded her in death, as he did his son Paul Robert, who lived in California at the time of Henry's death.

Note that the 1870 Census gives 7/12 as his age, which would be November 1869. 1900 U.S. Census gives Nov 1868 as his birthdate, while his death certificate gives the date 21 June 1969. Since November 1869 is the birth date given closest to the actual birth, it is probably the most accurate.
