Burvel B. Newcomb passed away at the age of 74 at his residence on February 28, 1983. He was born in Arnett Oklahoma on May 29, 1908 and was a Warehouse Manager for Pittsburg Plate Glass Company. He has lived in Oklahoma City since 1917, coming from Arnett, Oklahoma, and was a member of the Agnew Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Gaynell of the home; one son, the late Gail Dee Newcomb; brother, Varion of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Vineta Shaffer of Oklahoma City, and Myrtle Slater of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Gary, Gaytra, and Gene, all of Oklahoma City. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith and Sons Mortuary with burial in Resthaven Cemetery
