She met her first husband in American Fork, Utah, with whom she had five children; Robbi Gibson, Lori Wallace, Susi Rice (Stan), Lee Wagstaff (Cheryl), and John Wagstaff (Sandra). They lived on a farm in Nampa, Idaho. After separating from her husband, Helen moved her family to Jerome, Idaho, where she worked her way through college to become a Realtor in order to support her children. She moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she met the love of her life, WilliamsTrowbridge, they married and in her heart she adopted Steve Trowbridge (Joy) and Scott Trowbridge (Ligh). A few years later, Curt Trowbridge joined the family.
